Micrososft announced that it is planning to roll out a real time translation service for Skype by the end of this year. The Skype Translator will allow people who don't speak the same language to communicate with each other, while Skype translates the conversation in real-time.
Microsoft said that they have been working on the translation technology for over a decade now and that it's time for something new. Skype Translater which currently supports 40 languages and is developed by Skype and Micrososft will first be available as a Windows 8 beta app before the end of 2014. But with over 300 million monthly users and 2 billion daily conversations they are planning to launch the service on as many devices as possible.
